Makes you feel like Saladin or a crusader if you are on the wrong side of things... But it does not really matter, because you can not get past first battle of either scenario. It just crashes. This game crashes more than the Bandicoot himself...All jokes aside, this game and Paradox in general is the real JOKE! Why? All they seem to care about is the DLC'n now. Where is that great Paradox these days? Yeah games are still solid but not fixing a well-known bug that makes playing the game impossible, is unacceptible. I am still a devoted fan of Paradox games and i buy every one of then (on sale though but does it really matter?). But this one really pisses me of, because as much as it seems like a bad imitation of Medieval Total War, it does have a unique character as a game. For a hardcore paradox and strategy fan, this game could have been a no-brainer.I am very dissappointed that i have to downgrade this great concept and not have fun out of it. If they somehow decide to solve this problem, i'd be glad to buy this back and liberate the holy lands!. You can learn from this game about history so that's why I recommend it.. WARNING DO NOT PURCHASE!!!The game seems cool and like a lot of fun but i just can't seem to get it to work n matter what.I have spent the last 2 days looking for a solution and haven't been able to play the game because each time i try to start the first mission the game crashes with a "this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" error message i have tried to play the game with different resolution and graphics settings DIDNT WORK.Tried with running the game as administrator with and without all the different compatibility modes DIDNT WORK.Tried uninstalling/installing different Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable versions because someone said that he got the game to work by uninstalling all the other versions he had and keeping just that one version DIDNT WORK FOR ME.(SLIGHT UPDATE)Restarted my pc and decided to have one last try at the game and decided to try the "run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" option at the compatibility tab and with that i am able to start the first mission but it is so laggy in it that the game is unplayable and looks horrendous which keeps this review as a NEGATIVE REVIEW.(UPDATE TO MY UPDATE)Tried to start the game again in 640x480 and now i get the same error as i did originallysoooooooooo...... Do not buy, peace : ). It's an ok game. The fighting is similar to Total Wars, although the camera is a bit annyoing. The map is restirected to 16 provninces and to win you just have to conquer them all one by one, doing various missions assigend to you. There are some RPG elements to the game making the game less monotnous. It's a good game, nothing less or more.. i don't know why i bought this game. i installed it sand hated it as probubly the worst ripoff of the total war franchise. i love paradox interactive 90% of the time. sadly this is one of the 10%. I had bought this game on disk long before I had a Steam account or internet, and at the time was ignorant of the whole "must download game through steam". So, I waited, and then finally got internet and made a Steam account. The install took awhile, but I had been wanting to play this game for a long time. The initial start up took a very long time, and crashed once or twice before finally loading. The first battle ran painfully slow, though I don't have a great computer, it can run Medieval 2 Total War on highest graphics. The combat was sluggish and awkward, and the bloom effects were weird, hazing the picture really. I couldn't even finish the first battle of the game and it crashed when I tried to quit. You could say I was disapointed at the very least. I had high hopes, but they were not held up to. So, I would not recommend this, as a strategy game lover, this one might be good to check out in a demo, but I wouldn't buy it.. 1. First To Those Who Say It's Broken Or Has Bugs, Shut Up And Learn More About Games Like This. It Isn't Brojen Simply Because You Can't Do The Missions Or Figure Out The Control And Layout To There Full Extent. The Game Runs Smoothly (Powerful Computer Prefered) And The Graphics Are Superb.2. I Bought The Full Collection Package Of This Game Back In September 2011. Never Had An Issue With It, Loved The Game (Not As Much As Total War Franchise But Still Really Well Made Game). It's A Great Medieval Themed Game That Gives You A Diverse Range Of Various Troops And Factions. Being An Avid Lover Of Games Of This Nature e.g. Total War, etc... I Would Say Its Up High On My List Of Games :)
